Here lyeth the body of Elizabeth, the wife of Randolph Wyard, Gent. late the daughter of Thomas Jacob deceased by Deborah, one of the daughters of Richard Green, Gent. and departed this life 29th September 1677 in the 22nd year of life and left issue of her daughter Elizabeth (pedigree page 61).

(Coat of Arms) Robert Settle, Clerk obeitt 28th February 1777 actat 48 Elizabeth, his wife daughter of Nicholas Jacob obeitt. Thomas Settle, son of Robert and Elizabeth died London 28th January 1790 in the 28th year of life in the parish of St. Andrews, Holborn.

TWJ own description taken from Laxfield Parish Registers:-

A rather worn Latin inscription of a laudatory nature unable to decipher. Thomas Jacob son of Nicholas Jacob Esq., and his wife, daughter of Robert Buxton of Cranwich County Norfolk. Paucorum Annorum Sed (here follows the laudatory remarks) born. 2 December 1719, died. July 1726. At the bottom of the stone is added - here lyeth Hannah Jacob who died (stone is broken, Coats of Arms).

Ledger stone of Mary, the wife of Henry Branch and daughter of Nicholas Jacob Esq  (TWJ pedigree page 73 .)

TWJ own description taken from Laxfield Parish Registers:-

Here Lyeth the body of Mary, the wife of Henry Branch and the daughter of Nicholas Jacob Esq., & Elizabeth his wife who departed this life August 19th 1770 aged 49 years, also of Henry Branch who died 20th February 1784 aged 57 years.

Ledger Stone reads - Here are buried Nicholas Jacob Esq. and Elizabeth his wife. She died January 24th 1756 aged 68. He died October 2nd 1757 aged 68 years.

Nicholas Jacob of was appointed Sheriff of Suffolk from 21st December 1718 to 3rd December 1719. (Nicholas Jacob of Armaringhall: Sheriffs of Suffolk, a list from circa 1129 to 1979 - held at Suffolk RecordsOffice, Bury St. Edmunds  ref: 344.20716).

TWJ own description taken from Laxfield Parish Registers:-

Here Lyeth the body of Thomas Bradlaugh alias Jacob who died the 9th day of March 1689 and left 2 sons, & 3 daughters (Coats of arms deeply incised).

Ledger stone for Frances Jacob, daughter of Nicholas & Elizabeth Jacob (pedigree page 73 - link), wife of F Jones, Clerk, and Martha her sister. Frances died on 20.10.1757 aged 36, and Martha died on 31.7.1756 aged 29. This ledger stone is the 10th associated with this family.

TWJ own description taken from Laxfield Parish Reisters:-

Thomas Jacob alias Bradly, Gent who had issue of his wife Deborah, two sons, two daughters. He departed this life 2nd September, 1657 aged 40.

There is also a monument to Nicholas Bradley alias Jacob (pedigree page 53 - link), buried on 8th August 1628, displayed on a stone in the north wall of the vestry (Ref: The Topographer and Genealogist, by John Gough Nichols - page 239). Sadly, we are unable to photograph monument as it is currently positioned underneath wooden panelling, behind the church organ.
