Charles Jacobs son of James Jacobs

born 1864, Plumstead, Kent.  

Inventor of Fuses for Woolwich Royal Arsenal. Served in India Civil Service. He was appointed in 1891 to the council of Woolwich Polytechnic Young Mens Christian Institute. Appointed District Grand Master of District Grand Lodge of Bengal on 27th December 1904. Chairman of Loughton Urban District Council 1920-22, 1928-29. Lived at Norham Lodge, Loughton, Essex and served as Justice of the Peace.

Married Louisa Jane Sear 29th September 1894, Loughton, Essex.

Had issue:-

1. Amelia Elizabeth Jacob b. 1895  died 1996, buried at Plumstead Cemetery along with her Grandparents, James Jacobs & Amelia Bowen.

2. Ivy Lillian Jacobs b. 7.6.1907 Loughton. married William King, farmer of Colchester

3. Cecil Charles Jacobs b. 1.7.1909 Loughton. married Josephine Mary Noonan

4. Edmund Lewis Jacobs b. 4.3.1912 Loughton.
